One Degree of Kevin Bacon
Sometimes work takes me to exciting places, for example, that time I went to New York City with my client, Sarah Cailean, for one of her live true crime shows. If you haven’t heard of Sarah (first, have you been living under a rock?), she’s a former police officer turned independent consultant who specializes in cold case homicides and disappearances.
She is the investigator and host of two hit podcasts — Why can’t we talk about Amanda’s mom? and Who Killed Jennifer Judd? — and she worked on a true crime documentary, Hell in the Heartland.
You know, just your everyday crime-fighting superhero.
Fun fact—Sarah does live shows all over the country, from Boston to Salt Lake City. This time, though, there was a bit of a twist. There were two familiar faces in the audience. Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon - both fans of Sarah’s hit podcasts.
Kevin and Kyra are beyond lovely, proving that even when you’re Hollywood elite, you still have room for a little true crime obsession and supporting important work.
It was one of those moments where I was reminded that Sarah is genuinely making a difference, one cold case at a time.
